Zolaf are unique tomato like plants that were engineered by Kvarol (King Square) in Squared Palace. They are notable for having a very unusual taste and filling, being described as fried chickpeas submerged in tomato juice.
Description
Zolaf plants were engineered by Kvarol to have a unique food plant in Squared Palace on October 9th, 2019. They can grow on any ground once planted, but do much better with direct sunlight. Once the plant starts to grow, it will occasionally sprout Zolaf "tomatoes", which look like regular tomatoes in shape but golden and lustrous in color. However inside these tomatoes is a fried chickpea like filling, submerged in what tastes like tomato juice. The plant will keep sprouting tomatoes, but doesn't grow much taller than 80 centimeters usually.
Uses
The tomatoes of the Zolaf plant are often enjoyed as is for food, or used in various dishes. Some common uses are Zolaf burgers with squished Zolaf tomatoes, or Zolaf falafel sandwiches, as the fruit provides for an excellent fried chickpea substitute. The stem and leaves of the plant however taste bitter, and are a very acquired taste. They smell really good though, making them occasionally be used in a tomato like scented perfume.
